Things may not be rosy for Deputy President William Ruto in some parts of Central Kenya as some of his close allies seems to be slowly withdrawing their support.

Notably, MPs Kimani Ichung'wa (Kikuyu), Moses Kuria (Gatundu South) and Nominated Senator Isaac Mwaura have taken close to a month without making an appearance in any of the deputy president's rallies or any other event across the country.

What in fact should worry the DP is the revelation that the three leaders who are on record having said they will fully support the DP's 2022 State House bid were on Thursday absent at events presided by the former Eldoret North MP in Kiambu where President Uhuru also comes from.

Ruto on Thursday presided over a series of events in Kiambu including the launch of the Wangige-Nyathuna-Rironi/Kirangari Roads and the Kimende-Kagwe-Ruiru River Road, Kiambu County and the only notable political figures who accompanied him were Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu, Senator Kimani Wamatangi, MP Ndindi Nyoro (Kiharu) and controversial area Woman Representative Muthoni Wa Muchomba.

The last time Kuria who is considered Ruto's 'main man' in Central Kenya was in the same event with the DP was on August 11th when he joined the Deputy President in Molo for a fundraiser in aid of Elburgon Secondary School in Nakuru County. Ichung'wa was in the same event.

The only other occasion where Ruto, Ichung'wa and Kuria shared a platform was during the homecoming party of Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro more than one month ago.

Senator Mwaura on the other hand who has been vocal on radio defending the DP and calling Kenyans to rally behind him in 2022 was last heard on the airwaves in April when he said he would personally campaign for the DP ahead of 2022. He has been silent since then.
