Kisii County is hosting the 6th Kenya Inter-County Sports and Cultural Association and County Assemblies Sports Association (KICOSCA/CASA)
This has attracted many politicians and Kenyan to Kisii town to experience and participate in the 18 types of games.
Businesses are expected to make profits during this period, however, this might be a major blow to residents of Kisii.
Prostitution is expected to rise due to the high number of visitors in the town. With the high rate of prostitution in Kisii town on normal days, an increase in demand will attract more peoples into this business.
"We expect to have more clients especially the politicians and various county government workers. This will be a week of good sales," said Kwamboka, a prostitute in Kisii town said.
This will be accompanied by increased alcohol intakes. Theft is another major blow out that will hit Kisii during the KICOSCA games.
With the high population of people flowing in, there are those who take advantage of the stranded visitors to chop money and steal from them.
"You can carry a client to their destination but instead turn against you and rob from you. We expect to make money but we are very cautious with who we carry," Dan Mbugua, a boda-boda rider said.
Before the onset of the games, Governor James Ongwae assured improved security for all who wished to attend.
The KICOSCA games kicked off on August 12 at Gusii Stadium and expected to end on August 18.
