The mother to teenage acrobat, Wendy Waeni has vehemently denied allegations that she is a heavy drunkard.
Magdalene Syombua vowed she has never tasted alcohol and accused Joe Mwangi, her daughter's former manager, of spreading lies to taint her name.
Speaking during an interview on Ebru, Mwangi accused Syombua of misusing money meant for her daughter's school fees and using him as a scapegoat to hide her drinking problem.
"In December, I gave her mother Sh100, 000 from my own pocket to organise and take Wendy to school in January because she was joining Form One. By the time schools were opening, she had no money and Wendy kept on texting me asking for the fee," he said.
Mwangi claimed it was through the intervention of President Uhuru Kenyatta that Wendy was admitted at St Georges School, adding that her mother 'did not even buy her a toothbrush'.
"Alcoholism is a bad thing, the mother is an extreme alcoholic and that's how she has been wasting the money," Wendy's ex-manager said.
However, speaking to Citizen Digital on Tuesday, Syombua denied the allegations and accused Mwangi of being a serial liar and conman.
“I’m a staunch Christian, I have never had alcohol in my life, my daughter can attest to that. Joe Mwangi is a liar and a fraud that is why it was the best fit that he no longer manages my daughter,” retorted Syombua.
The conflict between the talented youngster and her former manager has attracted a lot of attention from online users, which has prompted the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to conduct investigations into the claim.
