Deputy President Dr William Ruto on Saturday toured Mombasa County with goodies. The DP launched Changamwe Re-pooling Sewer Network Project that is valued at Sh200m.
The function had few local leaders in attendance partly because the area is dominated by Raila Odinga-led Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party.
Among local leaders present was the vocal Nyali MP Mohammed Ali and his Malindi counterpart Aisha Jumwa. The two urged Mombasa residents to support DP Ruto for them to feel the importance of being part of the government.
"At the launch of the Sh200m Changamwe Re-pooling Sewer Network Project, which will benefit 6,000 households, Changamwe, Mombasa County," DP Ruto tweeted.
While addressing residents, Ruto said that he was free to tour any part of the nation as he ensures that the Jubilee government delivers its promises to Kenyans regardless of their voting patterns.
He asked those lamenting about his trips across the nation to shut up stating that they are part of his functions as deputy Head of State.
Ruto promised more planned infrastructure to deal with expanding population.
"To serve the needs of a growing population and economy, the laying of quality infrastructure requires proper planning and positioning. It supports effective delivery of social services, including transport, healthcare, security, sanitation and promotes business," Ruto posted on Twitter.
