Interior and Coordination of National Government PS Karanja Kibicho has weighed in on the frustration that members of the public go through as they seek government services.

The PS on Wednesday said that that frustration must come to an end.

In a fiery tweet, the PS issued an order to all County commissioners across the 47 counties to carry out unannounced checks at service centres and take appropriate action in centres where there are shortcomings.

"The pain Kenyans undergo while seeking citizen services must end. County Commissioners are now directed to conduct impromptu checks at service centers, report & take action on shortcomings in provision of immigration services and issuance of ID cards & birth/death certificates," the PS wrote.

Kenyans have long complained of being frustrated when seeking government services at designated centres.

Last year Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang'i showed up unannounced at the centres and put officers frustrating Kenyans on notice.

The Uhuru administration sought re-election on a platform of streamlining government services.
