A man was on Wednesday condemned to life imprisonment after he was found guilty of sexually assaulting his own daughter.
Wundanyi Senior Resident Magistrate David Ndungi was told that Abdalla Maghanga committed the crime on the 9-year-old at their home in Mwachabo Village in Taita Taveta County.
The court was told that the heinous act was done on the minor on August 27 this year.
The prosecution told the court that the nine-year-old is a biological daughter to the 36-year-old man.
In his defence, the accused denied the charges, blaming his woes on his wife and stepmother, whom he accused of sponsoring the case with the intention of framing him.
The court, however, dismissed the accused's claims, siding with the prosecution that he is indeed guilty as charged, reports the Citizen Digital.
While pronouncing his judgement, the Magistrate noted that the prosecution had proved beyond doubt that the accused did the said offence, sending him in prison for life.
However, the accused still has a chance of getting his case heard afresh through a 14-day appeal window offered by the court, as per the law.
Should he fail to utilize it, the convict will serve the remainder of his life in the correctional facilities.
