A middle-aged man was arrested after killing his wife and burying her in a bit latrine.
This happened at Nyamariba village, Mwamonari Division Kisii county where a man identified as George Morara killed his wife Jessicah Moraa on Wednesday.
On Tuesday evening, Morara and his second wife were arrested and taken to Oyugis police station for interrogation. He accepted killing his first wife and dumping her body in the latrine they were using.
According to his brother Mike Onyiego, the accused is a goon who has committed many atrocities.
"Morara is a known goon. On Wednesday I heard screams at night. It is not the first time, so I did not take action. I woke up the following day, went to my workplace and on coming back, I heard that he killed her and dumped the body in the latrine," Mike said.
On Wednesday the police officers in collaboration with the community exhumed the body of Jessicah Moraa from the latrine that the husband had hurled the body, a process that took around six hours. The body was wrapped and taken to the morgue by the police.
According to the neighbours, man and the late who they were married in more than ten years, were not in good terms in the recent few months.
"They had differences but ironed out their issues and the woman came back after he (Morara) married the second wife. On Wednesday night I heard screams from 11.00 PM.
In the morning I got Jessicah by my gate unable to talk or move. She was in a pool of blood. Her husband came and took her into the house. She went missing since that day. People started speculating that she was killed and dumped, what has transpired to be true," Josphat Ondieki a neighbour said.
