The County Government of Mombasa in partnership with 'Tenda Sasa' (ActChange Transform), rights group Haki Africa and Muhuri, participated in the Mombasa Dialogue under the theme "Enhancing County Dialogues for Peaceful Kenya."
The dialogue which attracted several stakeholders including county government leaders, targeted community representatives, with an aim to discuss peace and cohesion resources and opportunities at the County level and to strengthen collaboration and coordination between state and non-state actors in addressing the root cause of conflict.
Mombasa County Commissioner Evans Achoki lamented that land grabbing the coast region disrupts peaceful coexistence and further asked interested coast land buyers to ensure you they have all the proper documentation and ensure prove of ownership from the seller.
On his part, Mombasa County Devolution and Public ServiceAdministration Executive Committee member Seth Odongo reiterated the need for Kenyans to use elections as a platform to choose leaders and not a venue to create conflicts.
"When it comes youth and violence the shaping should begin at a family level show them at an early age all tribes are equal educate them on how the world works as ignorance plays a big role in siting conflicts," said Muhuri on Tuesday.
