Machakos Governor Dr Alfred Mutua has revealed why he does not want Deputy President William Ruto impeached.
Speaking on Citizen TV on Wednesday, Mutua said that he wants to face Ruto in 2022 and beat him squarely.
“I do not agree with Senator Orengo’s plans because we do not want to destabilize the country's system. Secondly, I want to beat him fairly in 2022. I do not want an early red card,” Mutua said.
This is after Jeff Koinange asked if Mutua had the ability to floor Ruto in the 2022 race. The Governor expressed his confidence in winning.
“Can you beat DP William Ruto?” Koinange asked.
“Anyone can be beaten, even Ruto and I will beat him!” he answered.
Keeping in mind the millions Ruto will allegedly use during the 2022 campaigns, the Maendeleo Chap Chap party leader said that money is not the only thing one needs to win a presidential race as he has enough tactics to counter his monies.
“But he has a lot of money,” Jeff Koinange stated.
“If money was all one needs to be a leader, all rich people could be leaders. However, we have a strategy,” he responded.
Governor Mutua has shown interest in the 2022 presidential seat which is under a stiff competition as DP Ruto and Governor Joho are eyeing for the same.
