Nominated Senator Millicent Omanga and Embakasi East MP Babu Owino on Tuesday clashed on national TV after the latter equated himself to Deputy President William Ruto.
It all started when the host raised concern over the unity between President Uhuru Kenyatta and DP Ruto.
He recalled an incident where the second in command was forced to attend an event without invitation. Babu Owino retorted that the DP was not the only one who had not been invited to the event, adding that he had no reason to lament over the same.
"I think that the fact that the president is there, the Deputy President needed not to be invited because the president will, either way, perform the function that he had been invited to do. So many leaders were not invited. Babu Owino was not invited yet I have people I am representing in Embakasi," he said in part.
The remarks did not augur well with Omanga who quickly retorted: “ Babu Owino cannot be equated to the Deputy President… we cannot continue with that conversation.”
At some point, Babu questioned Omanga whether the DP Ruto was a god. The two engaged in a heated argument until the moderator changed the topic of discussion.
