Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya has scoffed at Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader Musalia Mudavadi over his apparent takeover as opposition leader.
Mudavadi has lately been in the front line in condoning the Jubilee government, shortly after opposition leader Raila Odinga pledged his support of the government's ideologies.
But speaking to the Standard on Monday, Oparanya who doubles up as Raila's Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) deputy party leader said that Mudavadi is being insincere.
He maintained that Mudavadi has nothing to offer in line with the 'opposition leader' tag he is trying to allocate himself.
''Some people just speak politics to be relevant but when prompted to be more proactive they recoil in fear,'' he is quoted.
Oparanya added that both Odinga and his party are no longer part of the National Super Alliance (NASA) alliance formed in the run-up to the previous 2018 general election.
He bashed the former Deputy Prime Minister for claiming that the alliance which also includes Kalonzo Musyoka's Wiper and Ford Kenya parties remains intact, saying that it now only emerges on paper.
''We have since crossed the bar. We are no longer interested in the opposition outfit called NASA as it is not feasible anymore,'' he is further quoted.
