The owner says that there is no point in demolishing the building which he maintains does not sit on public land meant for rod expansion.

Speaking to journalists on Thursday, Gorasia said that building can be turned into a school.

He said that there is no need of pulling down the multi-billion investment wand wasting everything.

“My plea is to President Kenyatta to consider stopping the demolition and have the building reserved for a school,” he said.

Gorasia said that his fight to save the building from demolished has hit a snag.

He said that he spent billions in court fighting for the building but some people are determined to bring it down.

“God will judge those behind the demolitions,” he told reporters.

On Thursday, the multi-agency leading demolitions in the city issued a notice to tenants to vacate.

Tenants have until August 30 to remove their property from the building.

On Tuesday, Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko said that the mall is among top buildings set to be demolished in efforts to reclaim riparian land.

Governor Sonko said that there is no looking back,  adding that the exercise is unstoppable.#hivisasaoriginal
