A couple, John and Phyllis Cook were the talk of the Kingston Residence in Sylvania on Thursday after proving to the whole world true love never dies.
John, 100-year-old and Phyllis Cook who will turn 103 years come 8th August became the talk of the city after walking down the aisle on Wednesday.
The couple had been dating for a year, and on Wednesday, they decided to go acquire their marriage license, only for them to wed right way from the collection point.
"It wasn't the plan, but we got here and they said we could marry you here. I said 'good, let's get it over with," John said as reported by WNWO-TV
The couple had each in the past lost two spouses, and when they met they revealed they found themselves in love.
Phyllis whose origin is rooted in West Virginia, is a strong Christian believer, and for that, she proposed that the two tie the knot after realizing their relationship had blossomed, which indeed came to pass.
John who is a World War II veteran said their relationship was one of the happiest that was full of them enjoying each and every move they made.
"To tell you the truth, we fell in love with each other. I know you think that may be a little bit farfetched for somebody our age, but we fell in love with each other," she said.
"Well, we were just compatible in a whole lot of ways, found ourselves enjoying each other's company," added John.
While, these lovebirds spend their days with each other in the assisted living facility, enjoying eating meals and sitting out in the sun, they never forget the value of space in a relationship, for that they have kept their own apartments, where John is upstairs and Phyllis is down.
If you may be wondering how the couple handles romance at this age, then you better release the thought. John said "Well, I probably shouldn't talk about that." when he was asked to reveal favourite things they enjoy doing most.
