Tanzanian comedian and former Big Brother winner Idriss Sultan on Wednesday landed in hot soup after allegedly photoshopping President John Pombe Magufuli's picture.
Dar es Salam Regional Commissioner Paul Makonda ordered Idriss to present himself to the nearest police station over the matter.
Makonda stated that the comedian should know boundaries when it comes to entertaining his followers.
"I can see you don't know the boundaries pertaining to your work when it comes to entertaining your fans. Now go to any police station and say that Makonda asked you to come, you will find your message. (Naona mipaka ya kazi yako huijui. Nenda sasa hivi kituo chochote cha polisi uwaambia Makonda kaniambia nije utakuta ujumbe wako)," read the order from the RC as posted by Bongo 5.
In his post, Idris had suggested that he should switch jobs with President Magufuli in order for him (Magufuli) to enjoy his birthday without disturbance or pressure.
"Let's exchange jobs for a day so that he enjoys his birthday in peace. (Kwa siku moja tukabadilishana kazi ili aenjoy birthday take kwa amani," Wrote Idriss on Instagram.
Magufuli celebrated his birthday on Tuesday this week.
In 2017, a humiliating Instagram post from Idris brought about a Twitter spat between Kenyans and Tanzanians on Twitter.
The comedian had suggested that Kenyans should relocate to Tanzania due to the inflation of flour prices.
Kenyans and Tanzanians locked horns as the hashtag KenyaVsTz trended for a whole day.
