In an interview with Citizen TV on Monday, the senator said that the current government has poor policies.

He noted that unless the government changes its policies in different areas, it is bound to fail terribly. The lawmaker also said that foreign debt is a huge concern because the funds cannot be accounted for at all.

"Jubilee’s failed promises boils down to poor policies. It is about time we begin coming up with a zero-based budget whereby we look at the actual expenditures in the previous year then come up with a budget to fulfil those promises," he said.

Kiminini MP Chris Wamalwa, who spoke during the same interview, said that the government needs to rethink about the foreign debts.

He said that the local and external borrowing has left the nation crippled adding that the government is losing millions through graft, adding that Kenyans are burdened with loans.

"You can only budget when funds are provided for, unfortunately in this country when budget estimates are given. Government raises the fund which brings about local and external borrowing," he said.

The remarks of the lawmakers come at a time when Kenyans are concerned over the increased debt ceiling to Sh9 trillion.
