ODM Director of Communications Philip Etale has responded after Gatundu MP Moses Kuria asked ODM leader Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta to hang their political boots.
Kuria over the weekend reminded the two leaders that there is a need for them to pave way for youth leaders to take over the leadership.
He argued that Raila has been one of the major problems in Kenya because he never accepts election outcomes, adding that time for his retirement has come.
“I am telling the president, the only way there will be peace in Kenya is if you and Raila Odinga retire and go home, that is a sure bet," he said in part.
However, in a rejoinder, Etale told off Kuria in a tweet on Sunday saying his plea for retirement shows he is desperate.
“Hon. Moses Kuria, I like your desperation. It is beyond Abraham’s,” he tweeted.
Kuria's remarks come at a time when Deputy President William Ruto and Raila’s camp have differed over the implementation of the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).
Ruto’s team earlier wanted the report implemented by parliament before changing the tune after tongue lashing by President Uhuru last week.
