Cabinet secretaries Eugene Wamalwa and Keriako Tobiko have broken their silence on claims of divisions within the cabinet.
Speaking on Friday in Narok East, the two strongly rebuffed claims carried in mainstream media that members of the cabinet were pulling in different directions.
Tobiko and Wamalwa expressed their confidence in CS Matiang'i, who is the chairman of the national implementation committee on the cabinet, saying that their allegiance was to the constitution of Kenya and the president.
"I want to assure you that in the cabinet of Kenya we are one team, we are one thing and we cannot be divided. (Nataka niwahakikishie kwenye baraza la mawaziri la Kenya sisi tuko team moja, tuko kitu kimoja hatuwezi gawanyika na hatuwezi gawanyika.)," CS Wamalwa said.
Tobiko called on the media to report that the cabinet was not divided.
"Cabinet is fully behind and supports the president. Under the constitution as ministers, we owe our allegiance to the president. Nobody else," CS Tobiko said.
The ongoing assassination plot saga that has seen the names of cabinet secretaries from Mount Kenya region mentioned has fueled speculation of a rift in government.
DP Ruto allies have hit out some members of the cabinet, saying that they are pursuing a political agenda aimed at derailing the deputy president's presidential ambitions.
