We all wear jeans but very few of us have asked themselves what the little pocket is meant for despite being too tiny to use.
Most of these tiny pockets are inside the right side pocket, some have it on the front along with the trousers homage, while others have the smaller pocket within the regular-sized side pocket.
Those tiny pockets on jeans and some other pants were very important in the olden days since they were designed for men who would wear pocket watches and needed a protective place to store them.
These pockets were first used back in 1890 in the original Levi's "waist overalls" jeans.
The ancient jeans had one pocket at the back and two at the front side and then the watch pocket. Even though the olden times are far gone, the small pockets are still incorporated in different brands of jeans.
Today, even though most jeans have two pockets at the back and two pockets in front, the tiny pocket adds in. There isn't much to do with the tiny pocket though some people use them to keep coins, keys, tickets and other things.
However, they are difficult to remove where you have to dig into your hip if your fingers are not similarly tiny. The pockets are also helpful in carrying small pieces of hand jewellery.
