The former Prime Minister has since ceased attacking the government since he entered into a trice with Uhuru early last year, with his allies also going silent on matters to do with the Jubilee government.

Onyango on Thursday confirmed that the group is under strict instructions to consult first before speaking on national issues, adding that Raila has as well kicked out some of the advisers he used before the truce.

He said that "Mr Odinga’s political associates have been asked to consult first before reacting should they see or hear something they do not understand. Mr Odinga has also cut off a number of his advisers." on Thursday.

Onyango says that in exchange, Raila has been brought closer to the seat of power and allocated some supreme privileges by Uhuru's leadership as a thank you token.

He says that Raila has consequently been involved in cabinet matters as well as meeting foreign delegates on behalf of the head of state, in what he termed 'laying a red carpet' for him.

He added that "state House has opened the door and laid a red carpet for him, egging Cabinet secretaries to accord him support and consult him on various issues. Mr Odinga has also been hosting various local and foreign delegations at his Capitol Hill office in Nairobi."

Consequently, the former premier had been meeting ministers in his Capitol Hill offices, which has with time transformed into meetings with elected leaders allied to the government.
