President Uhuru Kenyatta was a skilled, nimble-footed rugby player, blindside winger, and played initially on the Senior Colts team and later at least the schools 2nd XV. 

He is said to have been a good player, who put hard work during training sessions and always made the cut. He was speedy and had long strides. He had a decent rugby brain and he certainly enjoyed the rough and tumble of the school’s beloved sport.

He never pursued rugby further but it is one of his favorite sports alongside football.

2. Kenneth Matiba

He is known to have brought tremendous changes to local football back in the 1970s. Apart from being an active footballer until he hurt his arm, he was a good administrator. 

Matiba formed the Kenya Football Federation (KFF) after he was floored by Williams Ngaah in the 1973 elections to control the Football Association of Kenya. 

Matiba then started funding KFF by booking all stadiums across the country and always organized Gor Mahia vs AFC Leopards matches for funding purposes.

As the Chairman of the football governing body, he sought assistance from the German government in form of a tactician and as a result, Bernhard Zgoll was sent to Kenya.

3. Musalia Mudavadi

Mudavadi hails from the Western Kenya region and has been in active politics for a long time now. apart from his active career in politics, he is a known sports lover. 

In his prime age, MaDVD, as he commonly referred to, participated in numerous sports activities including playing rugby. He once played for the notorious Mean Machine RFC, where he had a decent run.
