Opposition activist and controversial lawyer Miguna Miguna has said the referendum is inevitable.
In a tweet on Tuesday, the former Nairobi gubernatorial aspirant predicted that the nation will be subjected to a referendum in 2022.
The changes, he said, will be successfully pushed for by President Uhuru Kenyatta and his newfound bosom buddy and opposition chief Raila Odinga.
This, he claimed, will open the way for more joint moves in the future, including a political union before the 2022 general elections which will leave out Deputy President William Ruto.
He noted that Uhuru will in 2022 endorse Raila for the presidency, but with an immoral motive.
"In 2020, Kenyatta Raila Odinga will hold a fake referendum based on fraudulent census and IEBC Kenya's gerrymandering of boundaries. They form a coalition as William Ruto clings to the Jubilee Party shell. In, 2022, Kenyatta neuters RAO and executes a Kabila-style," he claimed, inferring to the recent DR-Congo elections.
However, Miguna's remarks follow repeated confirmations from the two leaders that their reunion has nothing to do with the 2022 political issue.
The former rivals shelved their enmity as was witnessed when they faced off for the presidency in the 2017 elections courtesy of their March 9 2018 truce.
