Police in Rongo Sub County has launched an investigation into the death of a businessman man who was hacked to death by unknown assailants last night on Wednesday.
Rongo OCPD Peter Kirui said the man identified as Joshua Ochieng was attacked as he was leaving for work at dawn by unknown people who hacked him in the head leaving him dead.
"The 42-year-old man operates a business in Kisii town and was heading for work when he was attacked by four men. They left on a motorbike after the heinous act," said Kirui.
Mr Kirui said they have launched an investigation into the incident to establish the motive of the assailants as the man was attacked at his doorstep.
The body of the deceased has been taken to Rosewood hospital mortuary for an autopsy as the investigation into the matter continues.
This comes amid residents complaining about insecurity being prevalent in the area.
Hardly two days ago, a businessman was on Monday evening shot dead by gunmen in Ikerege location in Kuria West Sub County.
