Teso North MP Edward Oku Kaunya is mourning the death of his father Francis Kaunya who passed on Thursday.

Kaunya described his late father as an industrious and dedicated leader who always went out of his way to guide the community towards the right paths.

"Having been an inspiration for us all, we never thought you would leave so soon. You leave a big gap not only to the entire family, the Ikaruok Clan but the entire Iteso community for your devotion, hard work and guidance will be missed. May your soul rest in peace papa Mzee Francis Kaunya! #RIPPapa" read condolence message on the MP's Facebook post.

Family sources say that his death could as a result of old age. Mzee Kaunya was about 100 years old.
