Kenyatta said corruption is not only in national government but county governments too.

“Governors should also fight corruption in county governments, there are not only thieves in national government but county governments too,” Kenyatta said.

He spoke during the destruction of Sh1.5 billion illicit goods at East African Portland Cement Company (EAPCC) in Athi River, Machakos County on Friday.

Kenyatta said the war against corruption is not political.

“Kenyans should not allow these people to bring politics in the war against graft. Let justice be done, nobody is above the more than 45 million Kenyans including myself. It is about the future of this country,” he added.

He said those accused of corruption should carry their own cross.

Kenyatta urged Kenyans to support him in the war against the graft since it has made him have many enemies.

Kenya Revenue Authority Managing Director, John Njiraini, said the items were seized from unscrupulous traders in Nairobi County and its environs.

Njiraini said the items had been nabbed in operations of multi-governmental agencies that included KRA, Kebs, Anti Counterfeit Agency, DCI office, National Intelligence Service, Nema, National Construction Authority and the office of Director of Public Prosecutions.

He said the vehicles will be sold as scrap metals after they are crashed.

"The war on corruption has just begun, we will destroy such goods all over the country. We are still seizing more goods to be destroyed in Mombasa, Nakuru, Kisumu, Eldoret, among other areas," Ngunjiri said.
