An middle-aged woman fascinated people in Kisumu city when she mistook an elevator for coffin ferrying dead people to heaven.
The dramatic event happened four years ago, when the woman who had arrived from Dunga area visited the Kisumu Central Business District after 10 years.
On this particular day, she accompanied her co-wife to seek funds from their late husband's employer and alighted next to a local university campus within the town which had an elevator facing the road.
When she saw the lift carrying ferrying people to the upper floors and vice versa, the unnamed lady became tensed, thinking that they were being moved from graves to heaven and the other way round.
"Can’t you see those dead people, some being ferried to heaven and others to the grave?” she said according to the Standard, angering her ashamed co-wife.
Were it not for the intervention of a man amidst the gathering crowd who offered to explain the situation to her, the situation should have worsened.
"That is not a coffin mama relax!" he told the woman who was already now blaming his dead husband for haunting her, before she was taken to the building and assisted to use the facility.
