Deputy Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu will emerge the winner in her ongoing case where she is facing corruption and tax evasion charges.
Mwilu was arrested on Tuesday following approval by Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) Noordin Haji.
But she will overcome the hurdle basing on the huge team of high ranking lawyers she has put together to secure her acquittal.
The Siaya Senator Kames Orengo-led team also brings on board others like Nyamira lawmaker Okong’o Omogeni, Julie Soweto, Dan Maanzo, Peter Kaluma, Millicent Odhiambo, Harun ndubi and Anthony Oluoch.
The case has also attracted Wiper Party leader and former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka who has not actively practised law for over 30 years, making the team most likely to outsmart the prosecution side in convincing the judge.
Also, the ongoing process comes just a year after President Uhuru Kenyatta warned to hit back at the Supreme Court for nullifying his reelection in August last year, making him likely to back Mwilu to save himself from the pending blame should she be declared guilty.
If found guilty, Uhuru will be observed as having realized his threat, a situation he wouldn’t prefer as it will have stained the good legacy he seeks to leave and will most likely even bring in more lawyers to aid the defence side.
Among the ones who have come out to condemn her latest tribulations in the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) which in Tuesday came out against the move.
Mwilu is facing 11 charges 3 of which include forgery, with others including tax evasion and abuse of office.
The case has, however, been forwarded to October 9, following her lawyers' successful appeal to the High Court.
