The first-year student who had gone to rest early on the previous evening after preparing for the next day's examination is reported to have been alone in her room when the incident occurred.

Reports by Nation indicate that the police officers are searching for three suspects who are believed to have also stolen from other female students the same morning.

Nakuru Central Police Boss Hellen Kabukuru confirming the incident added that some of the perpetrators are likely to be students at the same institution.

“The student is currently recuperating at the Nakuru Level Five Hospital after she was sexually abused by three men who were armed with a machete at around 3am in her room. Investigations are underway to bring the criminals to book,” Kabukuru stated.

The neighbors, however, added that they did not hear any hullabaloo during the night of the alleged incident.

“We ran into the room after she made a distress call only to find her lying helplessly on the bed with her hands tied from the back. She told us that she had been raped by three people who had threatened to kill her if she raised the alarm,” One of the students said.

The student's father called for a speedy investigation into the case citing that he had raised his child in a strict environment.

“I’m sad to learn that my daughter whom I raised under strict Christian values had to go through such a nasty experience. I call upon the government to speed up investigations and make the perpetrators pay for their crimes,” he noted.

The school's director Ms. Peris Adema stated that the institution is working in collaboration with police officers to fast track the investigation of the saga.
