Octogenarian politician and former Abagusii spokesman Simon Nyachae has been discharged from a London hospital, his wife Grace Wamuyu has confirmed.
Mr. Nyachae, who served in several dockets including finance and agriculture during Daniel Moi and Mwai Kibaki regimes, fell ill on April and was subsequently admitted at Nairobi Hospital.
And when the condition deteriorated, his son Charles Nyachae said, the former Nyaribari Chache MP was rushed to London.
"It's just chest pains but all is well. We are taking him to London for specialised treatment," he told reporters.
And around October 5, Nyachae was discharged from London and arrived in the country on October 7 accompanied by Wamuyu.
"We left London and arrived in Kenya on October 7. This is when I realised that Sh.5 million was missing from my safe," she narrated in a statement at Parklands Police Station.https://www.standardmedia.co.ke/article/2001301101/nyachae-s-house-girl-missing-after-loss-of-sh5-million-from-nairobi-home.
Nyachae's house help Lilian Maina is believed to have stolen the money since she's been missing from the date the two arrived in the country.
Despite his old age, Nyachae still commands a huge following across Kisii and Nyamira Counties where his Ford People dominated.
He returns home just two months after the death of his former colleague and friend Henry Obwocha.
