Kathiani MP Robert Mbui has alleged that Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu frustrated former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka as he sought to reunite her with the Members of the County Assembly as their wrangles continue to hit headlines.

Mbui, who spoke on Wednesday at Parliament buildings, said Kalonzo had plotted to end the stalemate between Ngilu and the MCAs but the first term governor interfered with the process.

He said Ngilu is to blame for the wrangles at the county following her hardline stand.

“Kalonzo has attempted to broker peace in the County Assembly of Kitui between the MCAs and the governor but she scuttled the efforts,” Mbui said.

Mbui told the MCAs to continue with their duties.

He said the lawmakers are only executing the mandate they were given by the electorate hence Ngilu should not misunderstand them.

“The governor has roles and the MCAs have their roles too. They are doing their duty. In fact, they should step up the fight. The governors should brace themselves to be held accountable,” Mbui added.

Ngilu and the MCAs have been at loggerheads for some time now over administrative duties.

She accuses the MCAs of sabotaging her administration.
