Mwala MP Vincent Musyoka has disclosed three politicians he claims are set to benefit from the proposed Constitutional amendment.
Musyoka said President Uhuru Kenyatta, former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, and Baringo Senator Gideon Moi are the ones who will reap big in case of a Constitutional change.
The MP said he will not support the proposed referendum for whatever reason.
He spoke in his constituency on Saturday.
Musyoka said the country isn't in dire need of a referendum.
He argued that there are more pressing needs that need to be addressed.
"The Referendum is tailored to create leadership positions for Uhuru, Raila and retired President Moi's son Gideon Moi. That's why we can't accept it since it's only meant to benefit a few individuals," Musyoka said.
"It's meant to increase President Uhuru Kenyatta's term. He will be made a Prime Minister with executive powers, while Raila Odinga a ceremonial president, and Gideon Moi the deputy Prime Minister," he added.
Musyoka said a referendum should only be held if it's meant to reduce positions but not to make other positions at the expense of Kenyans who will be paying them.
He said Kenyans have enough on their plate and shouldn't be burdened with a referendum.
