Instead, Tabichi says, scooping the award was just an appreciation of what many teachers do daily across the world with some going without recognision.

Speaking at JKL Show on Wednesday, Tabichi, a Franciscan brother, said 'there are many needy cases out there who deserve to be uplifted through the money he won'.

"I won $1 Million but that doesn’t mean that I am the best teacher. I am the voice of all the other teacher out there. The award is theirs," said a smiling Tabichi, the latest millionaire in town.

"I will give away a good chunk of the money I won. You may have your own personal needs but there are greater needs out there," he added in reference to his plans on the money.

Already, he has promised to set out a computer laboratory for his Keriko Secondary School besides educating many needy students from the neighborhood who struggle to pay fee.

President Uhuru Kenyatta is expected to host him at State House following his milestone achievement that he termed as inspirational to other teachers.

Next week, the award-winning teacher will be hosted at his Kemera home in Kitutu Masaba where hundreds of locals and leaders are expected to turn up.
