Kenya National Union of Nurses General Secretary Seth Panyako has lauded Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho for honoring his agreement with nurses.
Speaking in Eldoret, Panyako said that Joho was among the few governors who had honoured the agreement and his county will not be affected by the ongoing strike.
“I want to thank Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho for honouring our agreement. There will be no strike in Mombasa and I wish we had such leaders in all counties,” he said.
Panyako added that Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua and his Migori counterpart Okoth Obado were other two governors who fully paid the nurses. He stated that these counties will have normal medical services.
Meanwhile, the counties that are experiencing the strike are Taita-Taveta, Kitui, Kisii, West Pokot, Nairobi, Nyeri, Kisumu, Wajir, Nyandarua, Kitui, Elgeyo Marakwet and Trans Nzoia.
Panyako blamed the National government and County governments for failing to sort out the health crisis.
