Embattled Nairobi County County Assembly Speaker Beatrice Elachi, as it is now, may not survive the push by MCAs to remove her from office.
According to former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale, there are only two leaders who can save the embattled speaker and she should move with speed to convince two men to reign on the MCAs to save her job.
"Her (Elachi's) solution does not lie in court. The majorities in the County Assembly are ODM and Jubilee. She should seek a meeting with Raila and Uhuru to plead with them to prevail upon the MCAs," Khalwale said on Tuesday during the NTV AMLive morning show.
Elachi had on September 6 landed a temporary reprieve as court gave restraining orders barring the MCAs from ejecting her from office.
But things turned ugly on Monday when the ward representatives forcefully removed her from City Hall after listing a series of claims revolving around the violation of the Constitution as reason for her removal from office.
Elachi was impeached after 103 MCAs voted in favour of the Motion moved by Waithaka MCA Anthony Kiragu which intended to have her ejected from her post as Speaker.
The MCAs said Elachi has failed to live up to the Intergrity and Leadership Act of 2012.
