The Chief Executive Officer HAWAII Sacco Ltd Catherine Mburu says the harmonized working relationship between the two sectors will help reduce the accidents that are at times caused when the bodaboda operators shy away from the police.

Mburu was speaking on Monday at the HAWAII Sacco Ltd Nakuru main office during the handing over of motorbikes to members-bodaboda operators.

The function was also used to sensitize members of the public on road safety and a good relationship with the police officers.

“Today we actually just created a platform to harmonize the bodaboda operators and the police. You find that many a time some of them do not comply and they end up being arrested but today they have been sensitized on the traffic regulations basis” said Mburu.

The Nakuru-based Sacco with branches in Gilgil and Eldoret seeks to empower low-income persons.

According to the Sacco boss, they look forward to working closely with the low-income persons who save as low as Sh200 so that by the end of 6 months they can be able to access loan services.

“We want to work and empower the low-income persons so that they can be able to access loans to the next level,” said Mburu.

The event was also graced by Nakuru OCPD as well as Nakuru Traffic department.
