As Christmas celebrations were all over Gusii region, with people celebrating in different ways, a man surprised the residents after he took excessive alcohol in the name of enjoying, that resulted to death leaving back his young family in agony.
This happened at Ebate, in Bonchari Kisii county after the man whose name was not identified, went to Keroka town to celebrate with colleagues on Tuesday. The celebrations went sour as the man took excessive alcohol which led to his death.
As a local station reported on Wednesday, the man brought a deep agony to the family and relatives when they learnt and confirmed his death.
"The man died yesterday at Keroka town after he took excessive alcohol. This was due to the fact that, he was celebrating the Christmas day which finally cost his life," reported a local station.
Although the Governor Kisii county and many local stations have been urging the residents to drink responsibly in this festive season, to some, celebrating meant taking too much alcohol without minding health issues.
The man's dead body was taken to Keroka Hospital Mortuary after the family members were called upon, who arrived at the scene and confirmed that he was no more.
