Outcry from Egesa FM fans and subsequent boycott threats may have informed media mogul S. K Macharia to formally recognise slain comedian Joseph Mochere.
Mr. Mochere popularly known as Okebiro O'Mose, did not feature as Royal Media worker despite going on air for over two years.
In the first funeral announcement on a local paper, Mochere was not recognized as former worker thus causing uproar.
But on Thursday, RMS sponsored another announcement which even used Egesa FM logo to pay tribute to the slain comedian.
On social media, Egesa FM boss Nancy Kwamboka had been trolled by users who thought she was unfair by 'disowning' Mr. Mochere.
Some even threatened to switch allegiance to rival radio stations Minto and Kisii FM which broadcasts in local dialect.
Undoubtedly, Egesa FM has controlled airwaves in Gusii region for a decade, a reason why S.K Macharia and the team may have been keen to save their boat from sinking.
Initially, the radio station had insisted that he was not part of their crew adding that plans were underway to absorb him.
The popular comedian committed suicide a fortnight ago in what is believed to be family wrangles.
Until his death, he lived in a single room at Imara Daima estate further exposing his little earning at the Royal Media station.
