Mr Ng'eno, who is serving his second term, was arrested along with two MCAs when they protested kicking out of settlers in Mau forest.

Confirming the arrests, Rift Valley Regional Commissioner George Natembeya declared the area a no-go- zone for politicians.

“We don’t want politics in Mau forest, let them address their issues in boardrooms or at press conferences in Nairobi,” Natembeya told The Standard on phone.

The three are still in police custody and could be charged on Wednesday for creating disturbance, a move that could create more scenes.

But Mr Sudi has already come in Ng'eno's defense, demanding that the state releases him immediately and without any conditions, adding that he's innocent.

"Please release my colleague Hon. Johanna N'geno immediately and unconditionally," wrote Mr Sudi, another fierce critic of Jubilee administration.

Over 10,000 families are set to be evicted from Mau forest even though a section of Rift Valley leaders have opposed the move, saying it will paralyse many activities.

On Tuesday, the government reopened at least 15 schools that had been closed down in the region following the process of evictions to allow learners sit for exams.
