African Union High Representative for Infrastructure Development Raila Odinga has said Kenya will directly benefit from his position which he took last year.
He said his recent continental meetings with fellow leaders have culminated in agreements that will see a number of infrastructural development cross into Kenya.

The former Prime Minister noted that plans are underway to construct an oil pipeline that will link Congo, Juba and the oil-rich Turkana county, before proceeding to the Lamu refinery.
“Plans are underway for construction of an oil pipeline from Congo through Juba (South Sudan) to Lodwar in Kenya then Lamu oil refinery. These are plans I am overseeing currently,” the paper quoted him on Thursday.
He divulged that continental leaders have agreed to fund a number of proposed projects, which will immensely benefit the country on matters infrastructural development.
According to the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader, the upcoming projects will not only spur growth and reduce poverty in Kenya, but will as well have a great impact on the entire continent.
“In all these projects, Kenya will immensely benefit and will offer an opportunity to our products to be transported easier across Africa and overseas besides enhancing cross-border trade. Ultimately, we will realise the development we have envisaged for long,” he added.
Raila took the job a few months after his 2018 truce with President Uhuru Kenyatta, with his sworn rival and Deputy President William Ruto claiming that the government helped him get it.
