First Lady Margaret Kenyatta will on Thursday host a free medical camp at Uhuru Park in Nairobi. The medical camp, which will be open until Saturday, is part of the First Lady’s Beyond Zero Initiative.
The Medical Superintendent at Mama Lucy Hospital, Dr Musa Mohamed on Tuesday, said that the medical camp will be open to residents of different parts of Nairobi.
Mohamed lauded the first lady for giving the patients in the county the opporrtunity. He called on Nairobi residents to take advantage of the offer and ensure members of their immediate families, relatives and friends benefit from the same.
“We highly appreciate what the First Lady is doing. The restorative surgeries being done on women affected by obstetric fistula can be termed as restoring dignity to mothers,” Dr Mohamed said.
He also said that Margaret Kenyatta has played a critical role in saving thousands of lives since the launch of the programme. Mohamed further argued that women from different walks of life have reasons to smile because of the efforts of Mrs Kenyatta.
“What the First Lady is doing will be recorded in the history books of our nation. Many poor women have been able to access critical health services through these medical camps,” he added.
