Kisii County Governor James Ongwae has confirmed that Kisii fire station will be commissioned next month.
Speaking on Thursday when he inspected the ongoing construction works of the first Kisii fire station, the second-term governor expressed confidence that construction works will be completed on time ahead of commissioning next month.
"I will commission Kisii fire station next month. The state of the art fire station will serve as a disaster response center for Kisii county and give aid to neighboring counties," said the county boss.
The ODM allied Governor appealed to the constructor working on the project to ensure work is completed in good time and warned against doing shoddy work.
Ongwae who is serving his second term reiterated his commitment to ensuring he leaves behind a development legacy once he completes his last term in 2022.
"I'm not fighting with anyone in matters development. Critics should wait for their time to work for the people f Kisii once I complete my term. As governor I'm focused to leave a development mark which other leaders in future will emulate," stated Ongwae.
He called upon tolerance among political leaders arguing that divisive politics based on political parties will derail development.
