Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria has hit out at National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale over plans to remove him from two House committees.
In a Facebook post on Monday, Kuria noted that Duale is not qualified to dewhip him from the committees, adding that only Jubilee Party Secretary General Raphael Tuju and Chief Whip Ben Washiali can do so.
The vocal MP further noted that he won't protest his removal from the Transport and Budget Committees if due process is followed.
"Bring it on! I serve in the committees at the pleasure of the party. If the party decides that my services in the committees are no longer required, I will oblige," read Kuria's post in part.
Kuria also accused his Garissa Township counterpart of frustrating him since 2014. He, however, noted that the persecution will end one day.
"You have frustrated all my private bills since 2014. None of my legislative proposals have ever been brought to the House. From NGO’s Reform Bill (2014) to the Coffee Bill, the Interest Rates Bill and now the one you have sworn to defeat - Select Committee to support Matiang’i and his committee," added Kuria.
The MP said he will not tire in his fight to have an inclusive government and opposition despite Duale opposing his proposal to the Building Bridges Initiative.
"So now my friend, don’t even go to the media to remove me from committees. Follow procedure and I will leave. These are not positions that benefit me personally. They are platforms I use to make Kenya a better nation. Take your committee positions any time," said Kuria.
This comes as the Jubilee Party seeks to remove Kuria from the two committees following his New Year's Eve remarks in which he accused President Uhuru Kenyatta of sidelining the Mt Kenya region on matters development.
Duale accuses the MP of refusing to toe the line by failing to adhere to the party's rules and regulations.
