In a tweet that has since gone viral, the Uasin Gishu born Deputy President said 'a master of deceit was spewing desperate lies' in a gift he claimed was bought by him and his boss President Kenyatta.

"The master of deceit as always is spewing desperate lies. The car gift was bought by Christian leaders including UK and myself at the request of the chair of Catholic MPs. Understandably Empowering the church offends magicians and the evil spirits they worship. Shetani ashindwe!" Posted DP Ruto https://twitter.com/WilliamsRuto/status/1102099558832709639?s=19

A few weeks ago Ruto surprised the newly crowned head of Catholic Archdiocese of Kisumu with a highly luxurious car. The said car, a Mitsubishi Pajero, was gifted to Archbishop Philip Anyolo during an installation ceremony held at the Uzima Grounds.

The vehicle is rumoured to cost between Sh4 Million and Sh6 Million.

Ruto' tweet comes at a time when a war of words between him and the opposition chief Raila Odinga seems to be hitting the climax. In one of his Garissa visits on Friday last week, Ruto blasted Raila for politicizing the war on graft.

It is, however, not clear who the deputy president was referring to when he mentioned 'master of deceit'.
