Borabu MP Ben Momanyi on Friday narrated secrets behind his appointment to Parliamentary Service Commission, a year after the dramatic victory over his own NASA coalition.
At Nyamiranga Secondary School on Friday, Mr Momanyi, a Wiper legislator, said President Uhuru Kenyatta summoned all Jubilee MPs to State House and instructed them to vote for him.
Raila Odinga's NASA coalition had fronted Homa Bay Woman Representative Gladys Wanga and Malindi's Aisha Jumwa, a move that caused uproar from the Wiper party.
"I have learnt to embrace everyone. The most important thing on Earth is to work for your people. I cannot select political camps for now. If I ever did, I wouldn't be PSC member," he told reporters.
According to Mr Momanyi, he was almost losing due to lack of NASA support before Uhuru came into his rescue at the last minute before voting.
"For instance, President Uhuru Kenyatta summoned his troops to State House in my presence, asked them to vote for me. My own NASA had rejected me. It's important to avoid divisive politics," he said.
Mr Momanyi is serving his second term in parliament on Wiper. He announced his intentions to succeed Governor John Nyagarama, arguing that he's the most experienced politician.
"All those who were with me in 11th parliament were voted out. I am the only one who survived due to my good work. If you support me on a higher level, I'll be very happy," he said.
