Political analyst Herman Manyora has said that the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) is a political push aimed at securing political powers.
He says that it is being used by its founders; President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga to capture power post the 2022 polls.
According to Manyora, who spoke on K24's Punchline (from minute 11:00) on Sunday, the two feel responsible for the country's major challenges, hence their attempts to capture power to solve them.
He cited the political division left behind by their father's; founding father Mzee Jomo Kenyatta and first Vice President Jaramogi Oginga, and which continues to affect Kenyans, which the two leaders feel they are best placed to address.
"They want political power post-2022 so that they can implement what they want. They are the most powerful politicians and the only ones who can do what they want," he said.
As a result, he suggested that those pushing the BBI taskforce to release the schedule it will be using to arrive at the final BBI report draft are very unlikely to have their wish granted.
He opined that the two are politicking through the BBI forums, and introducing an order will hand the push entirely to the taskforce.
"BBI is a political thing, if you create an order then the initiators will not get where they want. They want something," he added.
Speaking in Machakos county on Sunday, Deputy President William Ruto demanded that the BBI taskforce releases a schedule of how it intends to arrive at the second draft.
