The county boss has been making some powerful declarations on behalf of the Central Kenya community, the latest being her Wednesday remarks that the region would back ODM leader Raila Odinga in the 2022 polls.

According to Manyora, Waiguru should not be taken lightly, adding that her authoritative remarks indicate that she has since taken over as Mt Kenya kingpin in advance.

"Anne Mumbi Waiguru is not just another lady. She is a serious leader from the mount. In her own words, she is now leading the Mt Kenya region as Kenyans move towards 2022," he said on his Take It or Leave It channel, Saturday.

However, he observed that a hard task lies ahead of Waiguru with regards to proving her recent remarks that the region would support Raila, especially in a region which is not known to support outsiders for the presidency.

The commentator opined that the declaration now places the governor in a situation where Kenyans will be keenly looking to see if her claims will materialise in the much-awaited contest.

"Anne Mumbi we have said is not just another lady, she has emerged and said as much that she is the leader of the Mt Kenya region as we move towards 2022. The conversation we must now have must centre around whether Mt Kenya people, in particular, the Kikuyu nation will in 2022 accept Raila Odinga," he added.

Waiguru made the remarks during an interview on KTN's Point Blank show on Wednesday.
