There are millions of job seekers in the market.

The economic situation of the nation has left many Kenyans unemployed.

Hunting for a job is a daunting task for most youths in Kenya.

However, you must always remain truthful when you are searching for a job.

Here are three lies that could cost you a job:

1. Criminal record

Most firms are always curious about the job seekers' criminal records before recruiting.

Most of the job seekers lie at this point.

They hide their criminal past because they do not want to be judged by the potential employer.

A strict employer will deny you the job after realising the lie.

2. Academic degree

Some of the job seekers claim they have certain degrees when in reality they do not have them.

Your days are numbered at your workplace if you lied about the degree.

Most employers will verify the papers before proceeding to any step.

It is good to reveal your true qualifications to land that dream job.

Never attempt to lie when you do not have the papers in question.

3. Licenses/certifications

 Some jobs require certifications.

Do not tell lies about certificates and licenses.

The lie could make you lose an open chance of employment.

Learn to speak the truth all the time.
