Ukambani boasts of beautiful women in the country.
Men from other parts of the country visit Kitui, Makueni, and Machakos Counties in search of these women.
However, over the years, some people out of envy have developed stereotype against Kamba women.
It is bad to stereotype people with the intention of causing ridicule or shame.
Here are four stereotypes people should stop associating Kamba women with:
1. Love sex
Some people have often propagated that Kamba women love sex.
While it can be true or otherwise, this stereotype has often been used to portray these beautiful women as immoral.
People should stop imposing this tag on Kamba women.
2. Housewives
It is annoying that some people portray Kamba women as people who do nothing but stay in their homes.
It is not true that Kamba women are housewives since we have distinguished women from the tribe who have succeeded in their various professions.
3. Cheat in relationships
Some people have propagated that Kamba women often cheat in their relationships or marriages.
This stereotype is often meant to taint the Kamba woman's character.
Kamba women are people of noble characters and have made names for themselves in various sectors.
4. Uneducated women
It is shameful for some people to portray Kamba women as uneducated beings.
These women have made it in terms of education and career.
5. Husband snatchers
It is consequently wrong for some people to brand Kamba women as husband and boyfriend snatchers.
As Kenyans, we should stop making stereotypes and instated appreciate our different tribes, values, norms, and culture for peaceful co-existence and nation-building.
