Barely a month after Thika United was relegated from the Kenya Premier League, the team's woes worsened with the shock news that their sponsor; Brookside had withdrawn her support to the team.

The Brookside Dairy Limited has sponsored the team for the last 15 years to the tune of Sh15 million per year.
As a result, Thika United Managing Director, Michael Muriuki is appealing for the well-wishers and sponsors for financial support.
In addition, he thanked Brookside and more so its Chairman for adopting the team and for his unwavering support to the club.
"It's a big thank you from Thika United family to the company for her support." wrote Muriuki.
