Gilgil Town MP Martha Wangari has dismissed a survey by research firm Ipsos Synovate that rated Deputy President William Ruto as most corrupt leader in the country.
The Jubilee MP says that the Ipsos poll lacks basis and is a political witch-hunt against the Deputy President.
Speaking to journalists at Parliament Buildings in Nairobi on Friday, Wangari accused Ipsos of conducting the survey to taint DP Ruto’s image.
“The poll lacks basis and objectivity and is pure propaganda to taint the Deputy President,” she told journalists.
The MP asked Ipsos to stop using surveys to divide the country.
She said that Kenyans are focused on unity and reconciliation and have no time for negative opinion polls.
Wangari also asked Ipsos to name its sponsors claiming that some top politicians could be sponsoring negative opinion polls for political mileage.
On Wednesday, Ipsos, released the survey claiming that 33 per cent of Kenyans perceived DP Ruto as corrupt leader in the country.
The poll also rated Kirinyaga governor Anne Waiguru as the second most corrupt leader.
Waiguru has since threatened to sue the firm accusing it of pushing to taint her character.
