Slightly a week before his scheduled visit to the country, Tanzanian President John Magufuli could face hostile reception over continued imprisonment of a Kenyan businessman.

For six years, Don Bosco Gichana has been languishing in Arusha prison over alleged money laundering and fraud.

And a section of youths allied to ODM from Nyamira now wants Magufuli to conditionally release Bosco for failing to prosecute him.

"He has failed to pursue objective prosecution and there is no need to continue holding someone illegally," said Douglas Maati, ODM youth league chair, Kitutu Masaba chapter.

"It will be injustice if he visits the country without releasing Bosco. As Gusii youths, we maintains that he remains banned until he yields to our demand."

It not yet clear how they will however execute their threats given the security personnel that will be deployed in Migori where Magufuli is set to meet President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Early this year, the youths staged protests in Kisii Town pushing for the estranged businessman's release but the move did not bear fruits.
